That mansion in Malibu taught me to trust my own ladder setup

I was doing a premium install up in the hills last week and the homeowner kept insisting I use his fancy aluminum extension ladder on this sloped driveway. After the third time he tried to reposition it himself, I stopped and just set up my own rig with the stabilizer bar the way I always do. Has anyone else had clients fight your gear choices on tricky terrain, and do you just cave to keep the peace or hold your ground?
