Showerthought: Why do we still use those cheap plastic cable clips that break after a year?

I spent $35 on a box of those adhesive cable clips to run coax along the baseboards in my own house last summer. Six months later they were all popping off in the heat and leaving sticky residue everywhere. I had to scrape and redo the whole job with proper anchor clips and screws, which cost me another $25 and a whole Saturday. Meanwhile my buddy swears by the same cheap clips and says I just got a bad batch or didn't prep the wall right. But I'm thinking the screws are just better in the long run for anything that stays put. Has anyone else had these things fail on them or am I just doing it wrong?

Screws hold up better, but good luck telling that to @price.tyler when his glue fails.
