Showerthought: My old compression tool finally gave up the ghost last Thursday.
The handle just snapped clean off on a standard RG6 fitting, which hasn't happened to me since maybe 2010. Anyone got a lead on a newer model that can take a real beating?

Gave up the ghost" made me realize I used to buy cheap tools too.

Heard a saying once that the bitterness of poor quality lasts long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten, and it's SO true for tools. I definitely learned that lesson the hard way with a few socket sets that just fell apart. @ward.piper hitting on a universal truth there, buying cheap ends up costing more when you have to replace stuff constantly. Now I save up for the good version, even if it takes a while.

Whoa, hold up. You had socket sets actually fall apart on you? Like pieces just breaking off or the ratchet mechanism giving out completely? I've stripped a few cheap sockets myself, but I never had one literally fall apart in my hand. That's a whole other level of bad. I get what you mean about the saying, though. I'd rather pay once and grumble about the price than pay twice and curse the thing every time I use it.
