PSA: That 'simple' coax run in a 1920s brick house took me 8 hours, not 2.

Why does every old house project turn into an archeology dig? Blair_green86 is right, they built these places to fight you.

My last one in a 1918 craftsman took a full day. The plaster and lath just crumbles, and you find a fire block every three feet. I learned to run a flexible drill bit first to find the path before even trying to pull the cable.

Sounds like your house was built by someone who hated future homeowners. Plaster turns to dust if you look at it wrong, and those fire blocks are basically brick walls hiding in your walls. Running a drill bit first is the only way to keep your sanity. Otherwise you're just fishing for cable in a pile of century-old rubble.
