PSA: stop taping your connectors before the pull, it broke a 200 ft run on me in Mesa
Everyone says tape the connector down tight before you pull, but last Tuesday the tape caught on a staple inside the wall and snapped the fitting clean off a 200 ft RG11 run. I had to cut the whole thing back and reterminate at the box, cost me two extra hours. Anyone else skip the tape and just use lube on the pull instead?
Used to swear by taping every connector, figured it was cheap insurance. Had the same thing happen on a shorter run last month, tape snagged a nail and yanked the fitting loose, and I spent more time fixing it than I would have just pulling slow. Now I put a light coat of lube on the head and go gentle around corners, and I have not lost one since.
