Overheard a homeowner say they used a coax tester to check their car wiring
I was at a job in Tucson last Tuesday and the homeowner was out in the garage messing with his old Ford. He told me he used his cheap coax tester to trace a short in the tail light harness because the wires were the same gauge. Made me think about how often we toss tools aside just because they're labeled for one thing. Has anyone else repurposed a cable tool for something totally off the job?

That tester measures signal loss, not resistance, so it could burn out a car's computer before finding anything.
