My old boss in Boise always told me 'never trust a wall plate you didn't install yourself'...

I was on a service call for a no-signal issue at a house built in the 90s. The wall plate looked fine, so I started checking the modem and lines. After an hour, I finally pulled that plate off... the coax connector behind it was just finger-tight and totally corroded. He was right, I should have checked it first. How much time do you guys usually waste on other people's old work?
