My Klein crimper died mid-job on a condo run in Denver yesterday
Was terminating some RG6 in a new build, third floor, no elevator, of course. About halfway through the second unit, the ratchet mechanism just gave up. Wouldn't catch or release. Had to finish with a cheap pair from the truck kit. Has anyone else had a Klein tool just fail like that? I've been using their stuff for years, maybe longer. Thinking about trying a different brand this time.

Oh man, "died mid-job" is rough. I had a pair of Kleins give out on me like that once, but it was on a Saturday afternoon and I had to explain to my buddy why I was two hours late to his BBQ. I still have the crimper actually, sitting in a drawer as a reminder that even the good stuff can just quit. I get the frustration, especially hauling all that gear up three floors. Denver's altitude is bad enough without adding broken tools to the mix. It really makes you wonder if they're just not as tough as they used to be, you know?

Got a pair of linesmans in my truck that look like they went through a woodchipper. I keep telling myself I'll retire them, but then I grab them out of habit and wonder why my grip feels off. Hauling anything up three flights in Denver is its own kind of punishment, I swear the air gets thinner with every step. Maybe they just don't make em like they used to, or maybe I'm just getting old and cranky about everything.
