Learned a hard lesson about cable burial depth after a customer called me out

Last month I buried a line from the house to the garage and thought 6 inches was plenty deep. The customer, who used to work for the power company, pointed out that frost line in our area goes down about 12 inches. I had to dig the whole thing back up and redo it. Now I always check the local code and dig at least 18 inches for outdoor runs. Has anyone else gotten similar feedback that changed how you trench?

Was the customer cool about it or did they give you grief about redoing it?

Sounds like the customer saved your ass from a bigger headache later
