Just wasted $150 on a bad coax crimper kit

I bought a cheap coax crimper kit off Amazon last month for $150 and it stripped cables unevenly every single time. Had to redo 8 terminations before I realized the die was warped. Anyone else run into junk crimpers from online deals?

$150 for a cheap crimper is rough, but that price point usually means it's a budget tool anyway. The problem you had with the die being warped is common on those off-brand kits - the metal just isn't machined right. I've seen people grab kits for half that and get better results from a name brand like Klein or Ideal, though those are more like $70-100. You might be able to return it through Amazon if the listing was misleading, since a warped die is a defect, not just bad design.

Yeah, that "machined wrong" part really nails it. It's frustrating because you think you're getting a decent tool for the money and instead you get a die that's literally warped out of the box. I feel for anyone who drops that much on something and it's just junk right away. For real, a warped die is a straight up defect, not a "budget tool compromise." That's the kind of thing you should definitely push for a return or exchange on. Hope you can get your money back without too much hassle.
