Making a whole policy about a sandwich feels like overthinking it. It's just lunch, not a contract negotiation. If they're being nice and it looks fine, why not eat it? Turning down a simple kindness can make things more awkward than just saying thanks.

Always say no to customer food. You never know what's in it or if it's safe. Bringing your own meal is just easier and less risky.
