Had a job in a 1920s brick house in St. Louis that turned into a full day crawlspace adventure

The drop was supposed to be simple, but the old plaster walls had zero clear paths. I spent six hours belly-crawling through a tight, dusty crawlspace to fish a line from the basement to the second floor office. What's your go-to method for getting a clean run in those old solid-wall houses without tearing up all the trim?

Man, that sounds like a nightmare. Did you at least find any weird old stuff down there? I swear those old crawlspaces are time capsules. My last one had a bunch of old glass milk bottles and a ratty pair of shoes from like the 50s. Honestly, sometimes I just look for an old closet and go up a corner, even if it means a longer run. Cutting into that old trim feels like a crime.

Whoa, glass milk bottles? That's a legit find. I usually just get decades of dirt and maybe a dead mouse. Once I pulled out a soggy newspaper from 1978, but that's about it. You hit the weird history jackpot with those. Makes me want to poke around more, but I'm not that lucky.
