Finally got my attic crawl time down from 45 minutes to under 15 on a retrofit in Phoenix.

I used to drag a whole spool and my drill up there, but after getting stuck in a tight spot last month, I started pre-making 50-foot jumpers with connectors in my van, which lets me just pull the line through and go.

Sounds like a smart time saver for sure. I've always worried about pre-made jumpers creating extra slack and clutter in an already tight space. The extra time up front lets me run a cleaner line to the exact length needed.

Did you ever accidentally cut a cable too short and have to start all over?

I read that extra slack can actually help with future repairs.
