Back in 2020 I had to choose between fiber splices and coax ends on a big job at the old Mill Creek complex
I was running cable for 48 units in that building and my foreman told me to pick one method for all the drops. I went with coax ends cause I was faster with a compression tool, figured it'd save time. Well, three months later they had me replace half of them with fiber splices cause the signal kept dropping on the upper floors. I swear I should've just learned the fusion splicer sooner. Has anyone else had a call like that where your choice got overruled by the actual signal tests?

Fiber's always the answer but coax is still fine for short runs.

Took me way too long to admit coax was the wrong call there. I still feel that sting in my pride every time I see a compression tool.
