After a job in Charlotte, I stopped using cheap coax connectors
Did a 3 month install run in Charlotte last spring and every single cheap F connector I used on outdoor drops was failing by fall. The supplier swore they were fine, but corrosion hit them fast. Now I only use compression fittings with the rubber gasket, even if the customer's budget is tight. Anyone else see a huge difference in longevity with the pricier ends?
I read somewhere that the cheap ones don't have the same plating thickness, so moisture gets in way faster. Your Charlotte job sounds like the perfect test case for that.
