Why does everyone hide cables behind the TV with zip ties?

I keep seeing setups where people bundle all their HDMI and power cables tight together with zip ties behind the TV. That's gonna cause interference and heat buildup, I learned that the hard way last summer when my PS4 started glitching during a storm. Has anyone else had signal issues from bundling cables too tight?

Wait you had a PS4 actually glitch from tight cable bundling? I always thought that was just a myth people threw around to sound smart. Did the zip ties cause visible damage or was it more like intermittent issues?

Nah it was real, intermittent freezing til I loosened the zip ties.
