Velcro strips finally converted me after years of twist ties

I used to think velcro was overkill for cables, just extra stuff to lose. Then last week I redid my TV stand in Portland and counted 14 cables back there, all tangled into one giant knot. It took me an hour just to untwist everything, and about 20 minutes in I grabbed my roommate's velcro roll out of frustration. Wrapped each cord individually in under 5 minutes, labeled the ends with a sharpie, and now swapping out my console takes one pull instead of a guessing game. The twist ties always slipped off or cut into the rubber over time, but these hold fine and I can reuse them forever. Anyone else been late to the velcro party or is there a cheaper trick I'm missing?
