Tried those magnetic cable clips on my desk, now my laptop won't charge

Picked up a 6 pack of those magnetic cable holders from the hardware store for $9. Stuck them under my desk, routed the power cord through, looked great for about a week. Then my laptop started dying randomly. Turns out the magnet was messing with the charger brick sensor, it kept thinking it was unplugged. Had to peel all of them off and go back to the zip tie chaos. Anyone else had magnets wreck their gear?
