My wife took one look at my zip tied cables and asked if I hated myself
She wasn't wrong. I had every cord behind the TV wrapped so tight with black zip ties it looked like a hostage situation. Ten minutes to swap an HDMI because I'd have to cut and redo the whole bundle.
Last month she said the real problem wasn't the mess, it was that I'd made the mess permanent. So I ripped it all out and went to velcro straps and a label maker. Now every cord gets a little tag: TV, router, soundbar. Takes me 30 seconds to swap anything.
The zip ties were hiding my laziness. I tied it once and never wanted to touch it again. The velcro forces me to actually deal with it.
Anyone else get called out by someone in their house and realize they were right?
