My velcro strip behind the TV finally gave out last Wednesday
Three years ago I slapped a single velcro strip across the back of my TV stand to hold all the power bricks and HDMI heads. Worked fine for years. Then last Wednesday I heard a thump and found the whole mess hanging down. The adhesive just dried out. Spent two hours untangling everything and rerouting it with zip ties this time. Put individual ties on each cord first so I can swap devices without pulling the whole bundle apart. Has anyone else had velcro strips just stop sticking after a few years?

Three years is actually pretty good for velcro strips in my experience. I used to swear by them for everything cable related, thought they were way better than zip ties because you could adjust things. Then I had the same thing happen with a power strip mounted under my desk. Adhesive gave out at like 2 in the morning, woke up to everything crashing down. Switched to command strips with the velcro on top and those have lasted over a year so far. Still not convinced it's a permanent fix though, your mileage may vary.

So @blair_davis, you think command strips are beefy enough for a power strip long term? I've been scared to try anything heavier than a light cable comb with those.
