My desk cables used to look like a rat's nest, now I just cut them to custom lengths
I swapped all my power cords for ones I trimmed and soldered myself after that nest kept making me lose my wifi signal. Anybody else tried shortening their own cables or is that too crazy?

My desk had 3 power strips daisy chained together before I started cutting. My surge protector was literally humming from all the extra cord coiled up behind it. I measured each cable to the exact inch between the strip and the device. My PC power cord went from 6 feet down to 18 inches. My monitor cables are all 8 inches long. The whole thing is flat against the wall now, zero tangles.
