Just ditched command strips for magnetic cable clips

I spent months using those sticky command strips to hold my charging cables under my desk, but they kept falling off in the heat. Swapped to a $8 pack of magnetic clips that screw into the desk edge, and everything stays put even with my big heavy USB-C cord. Anyone else tried magnets and had them work better than adhesive?

@mason_knight same here, I tried command strips for my desk lamp cord and they gave up after two weeks of summer heat. The magnetic clips with screws have been solid for like six months now. I got a pack off Amazon that came with little metal plates you can stick on things too, so I slapped one on my laptop charger brick and it stays stuck under my desk now. Not looking back at adhesive for anything heavy.

Used to think adhesive was the only way to go for cable management, but your setup sounds way better. Gonna swipe a pack of these magnetic clips next time I'm at the store, that screw-in idea is just plain smarter. Heat always trashed my command strips too, so this is a solid upgrade for sure.

Totally feel you on the heat thing, @leohart. Command strips never stood a chance in my office either, they'd just slide off after a few weeks. Magnetic clips are such a simple fix, makes me wonder why I didn't try them sooner.
