Finally wired my desk drawer the right way after 4 years of chaos
Used to just stuff every charger in a shoebox and dig for 20 minutes each morning. Last week I bought a pack of 30 velcro straps and zip ties for $9, labeled each cable with a masking tape tag, and now everything has its own slot. Has anyone else tried the drawer divider method, or am I the last one here?
The masking tape thing cracks me up because in about 3 weeks the oils from your hands will make those labels peel off and youll be right back to guessing which cable is which. 30 straps for $9 sounds great until you realize you spent an hour on a drawer that you could have just cleaned out once a month instead. Ive done the whole organization kick before, bought the bins, the clips, the little cable ties, and every single time it falls apart within a month. The real trick is having fewer cables, not more ways to store them. Most people keep chargers for devices they sold years ago and just like the feeling of doing something productive. You do you, but my drawer is still chaos and I can find what I need in about 30 seconds because I only own 4 cords.
