Finally tamed my cable nest with a $5 binder clip hack

I was stuck between buying those fancy velcro straps or just using binder clips I already had. Went with the clips since they were free and tacked each cable to the edge of my desk. Has anyone else found a weird cheap solution that actually worked better than the real thing?

Wait you just clipped them right to the desk edge and they stayed?

Read a review from some guy on reddit who did the same thing with a dual monitor setup. Said he just clipped them to the back edge of his desk and they never budged an inch. I guess the clamping force is strong enough to hold even with the monitor arm weight on it. Just make sure your desk edge is solid wood and not that cheap particle board stuff or it might crack over time.
