Used a $6 can of spray adhesive on my shop jig and it held better than clamps ever did
I was building a set of drawer boxes for a kitchen job in Sacramento and got tired of waiting on glue to dry with clamps every time. So I sprayed the jig surface with some 3M Super 77 I had sitting on the shelf for a year. The parts stuck in place instantly and I could keep moving without anything shifting. Ended up finishing all 8 boxes in one afternoon instead of spreading it over two days. Anybody else use spray tack for assembly or am I setting myself up for a mess later?
Man, come on. Spray adhesive for drawer boxes? That stuff is meant to hold down sandpaper and laminate, not be a permanent assembly method. Super 77 never really cures hard, it stays tacky and creeps over time. Give those boxes a summer in a hot garage and see if the joints don't start sliding around on you. You might've saved an afternoon now but you're gonna owe somebody a callback when a drawer falls apart in a year.
