Tried a $4 foam brush for wiping glue squeeze-out and my stain blotches quit showing up
I kept getting dark smears around my glue lines on maple face frames and it only showed up after stain, never before. I was wiping with a rag and I think I was smearing glue into the grain instead of lifting it out. Three weeks ago I switched to a damp cheap foam brush and just dabbed the squeeze-out from the top down, flipping it once when it loaded up. On a 12 foot run of face frames I got zero blotches, first time all year. The brush falls apart after about two frames so I buy them by the bag now. Anyone else using foam for glue cleanup, or do you have a better way to keep maple from going patchy?
