The $60 drawer slide jig that took me 4 weekends to trust
Picked up one of those aluminum jigs for undermount slides thinking it would speed up my installs. First try at a kitchen in Tacoma took 3 hours and two ruined drawer boxes because I misread the measuring marks. Turns out the jig was fine, my reference edge was off by a hair. After recalibrating with a square and testing on scrap ply, I finally got consistent results. But I wasted almost a full month doubting whether to use it on real jobs. Has anyone else had a tool that took forever to click because your old habits fought it the whole way?
