PSA: My client in Denver asked for a 'floating' cabinet that actually floats

Last month, a guy named Mark wanted a kitchen island cabinet that didn't touch the floor at all, like a magic trick. He got real upset when I explained that even a floating design needs some kind of support structure (you know, physics and all). He showed me a picture from a movie set and said, 'But they did it there!' Has anyone else had to talk a client down from a purely Hollywood idea?

Man, I used to get those requests too until a friend's client wanted a glass staircase like @juliawalker mentioned. It really shows how movies mess with people's idea of what's possible.

My buddy had a client who wanted a completely clear glass staircase, no visible supports at all. He had to explain that people need to actually walk on it without falling through.
