Found out my new sander was eating through pads because of a dust collection issue
I was going through sanding pads every 2-3 faces on a job last week and it was driving me crazy. Checked the price tag and realized I was burning about $12 per pad every time I swapped one out. Turns out my vacuum hose had a clog right at the connection point and dust was recirculating back onto the pad. Has anyone else had pad wear issues that turned out to be a dust problem instead of a bad sander?

Ever notice how half the time we think something's broken it's really just a clog or a blocked vent somewhere else? Same thing happened with my dryer - thought it was dying, but it was just lint buildup in the duct.
