Swapped spreadsheets for a basic ops dashboard and it saved my sanity

I used to track inventory and orders in a dozen messy Excel sheets, updating them manually every morning for two years. After a $3,000 shipping error last December because I missed a row, I switched to a simple Google Data Studio dashboard that pulls live from our order system. Has anyone else ditched manual tracking after one costly mistake?

oh man, i had a buddy who lost like five grand because he was still using a paper ledger for his landscaping business. he double-booked a crew for a huge commercial job and had to pay subs out of pocket to fix it. switched to a quickbooks dashboard the next week and now he just looks at his phone instead of flipping through a binder. he still gets mad about it when we grab beers. that shipping error you had sounds brutal but its wild how one big screwup can just flip a switch in your brain.
