I was reading a report on warehouse picking errors and saw that a 1% error rate can cost a small business over $10,000 a year. That seems huge.

Forget the direct costs. Look at the hidden tax on customer trust and future sales. A wrong item shipped can turn a first time buyer into someone who never comes back. That lost lifetime value is the real hit.

Seems low honestly, seen way worse in practice.

Our shipping team once sent a customer a single shoe. I mean, the lifetime value of that guy is definitely zero now. Maybe we just set the bar low.
