Heard a VP say "operations is just adult Tetris" and I had to walk away

At a team meeting last Tuesday, this VP from corporate dropped that line while talking about our supply chain issues. I've been in ops for 8 years at three different companies and that kind of thinking is why we keep failing. Our warehouse in Phoenix had 40% more returns last quarter because nobody watches the details like vendor lead times or seasonal demand shifts. Anyone else get tired of people who treat this work like a game instead of actual logistics?

Honestly, "adult Tetris" is a pretty funny way to describe the nightly panic of trying to fit 300 pallets into a 200-pallet dock. I've been that guy who spent 45 minutes rotating boxes in my head just to make a truck load, so I get why we all lose our cool. Ngl though, if Tetris had seasonal demand shifts and vendor lead times, I'd probably rage quit on level one.

Well, Tetris actually does have the pieces speed up over time. That's kind of like seasonal demand.
