Had to choose between a new CRM or a better inventory system last quarter

Went with the CRM, thinking better client data would boost sales. It's been a nightmare to set up and our stock levels are a mess now. Anyone have a good method for catching up on inventory counts after putting it off?

Lock the doors for a whole weekend? That's insane, @norag55. I'd have a full-on mutiny if I tried that with my team. Sounds like you need to just pick a day and start counting, one section at a time.

My buddy's auto shop got into a similar bind after their software switch. They picked a weekend, locked the doors, and had the whole team count everything from spark plugs to oil filters. They used printed sheets first, then entered the numbers. It was a long two days, but it gave them a clean starting point. How big is the mess you're dealing with?

Wait, they locked the doors for a whole weekend? That's wild. I can't imagine telling my crew they have to stay in the building for two days straight counting parts. Did they sleep there? Bring in cots? That sounds less like an inventory count and more like a hostage situation.
