Fought a simple printer setup for 3 hours at a new office last week

I walked into a satellite office in Austin to get their label printer running for shipping labels, thinking it would be a 20 minute job. Ended up fighting driver conflicts with their older network setup for over 3 hours before finding a hidden IP address mismatch. Has anyone else had a supposedly quick fix turn into a half day nightmare?

But after a similar printer fight at a client's office last spring, i totally get why you'd say that. I used to think people were just dramatic about printers being frustrating, but that day changed my mind completely. There's something about a simple task turning into hours of digging through IP addresses and driver versions that just breaks you down. It makes you feel like you're going crazy when the solution ends up being some tiny mismatch you overlooked. So yeah, i'm definitely more sympathetic now when someone complains about printer setups.
