Serious question, my dad's handshake deal with a guy in Cleveland outlasted my 12 page contract, and I'm not sure how to feel about it
A retired contractor I drink with on Thursdays mentioned he's been running jobs on a two paragraph letter of agreement since 1998 because his lawyer said the paperwork just gives you something to wave around in court, and now I'm sitting here wondering if I've been overpaying for legal docs that don't do much more than a firm handshake and a witness, so has anyone here actually had a short simple agreement hold up better than a long one when things went bad?
