Hot take: that $99 LLC kit from an online ad is how people get themselves personally sued
A guy in my office used one of those cheap registered agent kits for his landscaping LLC and never filed the annual report, so when a client slipped on his trailer the court let them go after his house because the LLC was dissolved. Filing directly with the state costs $50 to $200 depending on where you are, and the kit just adds a middleman. Has anyone here actually used a kit service and had it work out, or did you end up fixing it later like he did?
