Can we talk about how nobody reads the actual contract clause until there's a problem?
I've sat in on 4 small vendor disputes in Austin over the past year and in 3 of them the fight came down to one line about payment terms that nobody bothered to read before signing. People ask me to look at the signature page and skip right to it, but the section that bites you is buried on page 7 next to the boilerplate. What's the clause you wish you'd slowed down and actually read before putting your name on it?
