Unpopular opinion: I think simple black text on white is better than those fancy full-color bumper stickers
I used to spend like $30 each on those glossy, multi-color designs with gradients and shadows from a custom print shop... but then I realized people can barely read them from more than 10 feet away on the highway. Last year I switched to basic one-color vinyl from a local sign maker for $8 a pop and get way more comments at stoplights. Anyone else feel like simpler designs actually get read more often?

Agree completely, I had the same exact thing happen with mine.

Oh man, that smaller font tip is gold. I switched to a tight sans-serif in white on my matte grey car and it reads crystal clear even from way back.

Reduced the font size way smaller than what the fancy shops suggest and got more people actually stopping to read the whole thing. Its counterintuitive but a 2 inch tall block of white text on a dark car just draws the eye better than a giant colorful mural that nobody can parse. Plus the smaller letters mean fewer cracks and peeling after a year in the sun. Simple shapes and high contrast just work better for the human brain when you're moving at 60mph.
