I put a QR code on my bumper sticker and 40 people scanned it at a car show in Dallas
I printed a small QR code onto the corner of a sticker that said "Honk if you hate traffic" and pointed it at a page with 3 of my other designs. Figured maybe 2 or 3 folks would bother, but my phone logged 40 scans in one afternoon. Now I'm wondering if I should drop the funny line and just make the whole sticker a code, or is that too much?
Whole sticker as a QR code sounds like a mistake to me. Part of why 40 people scanned it is because the funny line made them stop and look. A plain black and white square gives nobody a reason to care. You lose the joke, you lose the attention, then nobody scans anything. Keep the line, just make the code a bit bigger if you want more hits.
