DAE get stopped in a parking lot by a guy who read a sticker out loud and then just walked off?
Was loading groceries outside the Aldi on Lamar in Austin 3 weeks ago when a guy in a work vest walked up, pointed at my "I brake for snacks" sticker, read it out loud, laughed, and walked off without a word. No "nice one," no nothing, just read it and left. I sat there for a second not sure if that was a compliment or him thinking it was dumb. The weird part is he didn't even look at the other 4 stickers, just that one, so I keep wondering if it was actually a bad design. My wife says reading it out loud is the best reaction you can get since it means it works. Anyone here ever get a silent read-and-leave and how do you take it?
Man, that would stick with me too. Here's what I want to know though: did he read it in a flat voice like he was just sounding out words, or did he actually laugh first and then walk off? Because those are two very different things. If he laughed, your wife is right and you can let it go.
