Warning: don't use washi tape for weekly spreads
At a craft fair in Austin last month a vendor told me washi tape fades in direct sunlight. I had a whole June spread covered in it and now half the pages look washed out. Anyone else run into this with their decor stuff?

The fading problem is real but what people don't talk about enough is how washi tape can also leave sticky residue behind when you peel it off. I had some cheap rolls from a dollar bin that practically melted into my notebook after a month in my bag. Had to just throw out that whole spread because cleaning it off ruined the paper. Even the good stuff from Japanese brands can get tacky if your planner sits in a hot car or near a window. Best to stick with actual washi that's labeled archival or acid free if you're planning to keep those pages for more than a week or two.

omg YES the residue thing is so real. I actually learned that the hard way when I left a washi tape tab on my water bottle for like a week and when I peeled it off it left this weird sticky film that collected lint and dust and looked so nasty. Had to scrub it with goo gone and it still feels slightly tacky to this day. I swear some of those cheap tapes are just glorified stickers with better patterns lol.
