Stuck between a dot grid and a blank page for my new journal

I needed a new journal and was stuck between a dot grid and a totally blank one. I went with the dot grid because I thought it would help me keep my lines straight for my monthly logs. It's been about two months now and honestly, I'm glad I picked it. The dots are light enough that they don't get in the way when I'm just writing, but they're a lifesaver for drawing simple boxes and charts. Anyone else have a strong preference for one type of page over the other?

Oh man, I actually had the opposite happen... I started with dot grid and felt kind of boxed in after a while. The dots kept pulling my eye even though they were light, and I just wanted total freedom to scribble. Switched to blank pages last year and it was like a relief, like taking a deep breath. My lines are a little wobbly but I got used to it. Funny how the same thing can feel so different to people.

Ugh same here, I tried blank pages once and my handwriting went all over the place like a drunk spider lol. The dots are honestly such a game changer for me, especially when I'm trying to make those little habit trackers or budget spreads that need some structure. I love that they're there when I need them but totally invisible when I'm just rambling in my daily entry. Blank pages stress me out way too much, feels like staring at a void every time I open the journal.
