Spent two hours trying to get my weekly spread boxes perfectly even
Honestly, I just kept redrawing the lines with my ruler and it still looked off. Ended up using a piece of graph paper behind the page as a guide. How do you guys keep your layouts from getting wonky?

My friend Jake had the same exact problem with his habit tracker. He was using a brand new ruler and everything, but the lines just would NOT line up. He got so mad he almost threw the whole journal. The real issue was his desk wasn't flat, it had this tiny little bump right where he was drawing. He put a big hardcover book under the page and suddenly his lines were perfect. It's crazy how the smallest thing can mess it all up.

Two hours just to draw boxes?

Remember the mental math of spacing. You're not just drawing lines, you're dividing the page into thirds for a sidebar, then calculating column gutters, all while keeping the margins even. It's less art and more sudoku with a pen.

Ugh, that graph paper trick is a lifesaver. My friend Sarah had the same exact problem last month. She was trying to do a fancy dutch door layout and her columns were all different widths, it looked like a toddler drew it. She even bought a new ruler, thinking hers was bent. @victor_adams95, it's a real thing! She finally just started using dot grid notebooks exclusively and gave up on trying to make perfect lines on blank paper. Some battles aren't worth fighting.
