Used to believe the right tools made the hobby. Now I see they just make a mess in my desk drawer. The simple pen and notebook never let me down.

Oh man, I feel that. I bought a set of fancy stencils for my headers that I used exactly once. The basic supplies always work better for me, honestly.

But is it really the supplies or just how we use them? I've got some fancy pens that work great once I learned their quirks. Maybe those stencils just needed a different paper or pen to work right. Sometimes we blame the tool when we just need more practice with it. Giving up on gear after one try feels like missing out.
