My weekly spread used to be a total mess until I switched to a simple grid system
For about six months, I tried drawing a new, fancy layout every Sunday night, which always took over an hour and stressed me out. Now I just use a basic two-column grid I made with a ruler, and I fill it in as the week goes. The change happened after a busy Monday where I spent more time decorating than actually planning my tasks. Has anyone else found that a simpler setup works better for them?

Honestly, what finally clicked for me was just using a basic to-do list on a sticky note. Tbh, all that extra stuff just got in the way.

See, that fancy layout hour was probably your actual planning time, you just didn't see it. Getting creative lets your brain sort things out before the week even starts. A basic grid or, like @daniel_king86 said, a sticky note, just feels like you're rushing to write chores down. The pretty setup makes you actually think about your time instead of just listing stuff, so it sticks better. Dropping all the decoration might save minutes but you lose that mental prep, lol.

Maybe it's not about the time spent but the focus it forces. A blank grid lets your eyes glaze over, but adding color or lines makes you actually look at each slot. That visual engagement is what locks the plan in your head, not just the act of writing it down.
