My two week tracker fell apart, so I went back to basics
I spent a whole evening building a fancy 10 row habit tracker with color coding and everything. By day 5 I stopped filling it in because it felt like homework. So I scraped it and now I just put a tiny dot next to each day's entry in my daily log. Has anyone else found that simpler spreads actually stick better for them, or is it just me?
The "felt like homework" part is the whole thing right there. Same reason people buy a fancy planner in January and by March it's buried under junk mail. The more steps you add to something, the more it turns into a chore, and chores are the first thing we quit when life gets busy. A tiny dot takes half a second, so there's nothing to quit. I've seen this with everything from workout logs to budgets. The version you'll actually do beats the pretty version every time.
