I finally gave up on perfect spreads after my journal became a stress ball.

In my experience, trying to make every page look perfect just made me avoid opening my journal, so now I embrace messy, functional pages, but your mileage may vary.

Hold up, you called your journal a stress ball. That is such a wild but perfect way to put it. Mine just became this scary blank thing I was afraid to mess up. Going messy was the only way I could actually write in it anymore. Letting go of that perfect idea is seriously the best move.

Get how that blank page pressure just kills the vibe, @kelly.andrew. I finally had to just scribble nonsense on the first page to get past it. Now my journal is a total mess and actually useful, which makes buying those fancy ones pretty pointless.

Your stress ball metaphor hits a little too close to home.
