Heard a girl at my library say her journal was for "feelings only" and now I am rethinking my whole layout
She was at the table next to me in Seattle last Tuesday and mentioned she keeps zero tasks in hers, just mood notes and doodles, because to-do lists made her quit after 2 weeks. I have been cramming 14 habits and a sleep tracker into mine, so maybe I am the one doing it wrong. Anyone here run a feelings-only or mostly decorative journal? How do you keep track of actual stuff then?
Sounds like she found what works for her, but that doesn't mean the rest of us are doing it wrong. I've got a habit tracker, a mood log, and a running list in mine and it's all in one book because flipping between 3 notebooks was the thing that made me quit. Splitting feelings from tasks sounds nice until you're standing in a store trying to remember if you already bought light bulbs. Do whatever keeps you opening the thing every day, that's the only rule that matters.
