Finally hit 90 days of daily logging without missing a single page
I started my current notebook back on March 3rd, and as of yesterday I have filled 96 pages with no skipped days, which is the longest streak I have ever kept going. The trick for me was keeping the journal on the kitchen counter next to the coffee maker instead of in my bag, so I see it before I leave the house. My old habit was trying to write perfect entries at night and quitting the moment I fell behind, but now messy two line logs count just fine. For anyone who has stuck with one for 6 months or more, what made it finally click for you?
Ha, the kitchen counter hack is real. I read somewhere that the guy behind the "don't break the chain" thing said the streak itself becomes the habit, not the journaling, and that's what keeps you going on the days you don't feel like it. Honestly that made sense to me because once you have 40 days banked, skipping one starts to feel like throwing away money. Tbh the messy two line entries are the whole secret too, my sister has kept a log for like two years and half her pages are just weather and what she ate. Ngl I still fall off after a few weeks, so 90 days straight is wild to me.
