A friend said my habit tracker looked like a prison log and it made me rethink everything
They pointed out that my daily tracker had 15 boxes to check, and missing one felt like a failure. I was tracking things like 'drink water' and 'read 10 pages' but it just added stress. So I cut it down to just 3 core habits that actually matter to me right now. Now my weekly spread has way more white space and feels less like a report card. Has anyone else simplified their trackers after getting pushback?

Good call. Less tracking means less pressure.

Yeah, I stopped checking my step count last month. It just made every walk feel like a chore. Now I just go out because it feels good, not because I need to hit a number. The whole tracking thing can really suck the fun out of it.

Good for you @hugo_cooper. I used to be the complete opposite. I thought tracking everything was the only way to stay motivated. But honestly seeing you say it took the fun out of walks kind of made me realize I've been doing the same thing without admitting it. I'd get annoyed if I couldn't hit my goal or feel like I wasted a day if I fell short. Kinda stupid when you think about it. You're right, a walk is supposed to be a break, not another job.
